Neighborhood Asthma Clinic

In cooperation with Dean Foundation, Dean Clinic, Dean Health Plan, and St. Mary's Hospital, the Neighborhood Asthma Clinic serves medically under-served families.

The focus of this project is to:

• Provide quality and affordable health care for people who have asthma
• Teach patients asthma self-management skills
• Serve as an asthma resource center for the community
• Educate families about environmental control of asthma
• Educate families about the dangers of environmental tobacco smoke

Besides improving the health of people in an under-served community, work in the Asthma Clinic has strengthened working relationships with school district and public health representatives in the community.
