Awareness Days
Twice a year Dean Foundation, in conjunction with Dean Health System, offers complimentary screenings and educational presentations on depression and anxiety. All presentations and screenings are free and confidential.
Depression Awareness Day
National Depression Screening Day, held every year during Mental Illness Awareness Week, is designed to raise awareness about depression, manic depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. The day is focused on educating the public about symptoms and effective treatments. Individuals also have the opportunity to be screened for these disorders. This helps those in need of treatment find out about appropriate care.
National Depression Screening Day is typically held the beginning of October; however, you can get screened at any time. For a confidential depression screening call 608-827-2333 during regular business hours.
Anxiety Awareness Day
Nearly a quarter of Americans will suffer from an anxiety disorder at some time in their lives, but just one-third of those affected will seek treatment for their illness. To build awareness of anxiety disorders, their symptoms and the effective treatments available, Dean Foundation participates in National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day.
National Anxiety Screening Day is typically held the beginning of May; however, you can get screened at any time. For a confidential depression screening call 608-827-2333 during regular business hours.
