Asthma Clinic
In cooperation with Dean Foundation, Dean Medical Center, Dean Health Plan, and St. Mary’s Hospital, the Neighborhood Asthma Clinic serves medically under-served families.
The focus of this project is to:
- Provide quality and affordable health care for people who have asthma
- Teach patients asthma self-management skills
- Serve as an asthma resource center for the community
- Educate families about environmental control of asthma
- Educate families about the dangers of environmental tobacco smoke
Besides improving the health of people in an under-served community, work in the Asthma Clinic has strengthened working relationships with school district and public health representatives in the community.
