Reading Clinic

website150x121 Dean Foundation operates an innovative reading clinic to address the fact that 20-30% of children struggle learning to read. Many children struggle with reading because of a neurological glitch in the brain called dyslexia or a specific learning disability in reading. Researchers have identified two types of dyslexia with one being related to phonics and the other related to the automatic recognition of words. Some children have both of these types of dyslexia.

Working with researchers at Tufts University, Al Arnold, MA and Dan Gustafson, PHD operate the Dean Foundation Reading Clinic to meet the needs of students with both types of dyslexia. The remediation program is individualized to the needs of each student and all instruction is one-on-one.

Al Arnold has been a reading teacher, principal and university instructor. Dan Gustafson, PHD is a neuropsychologist who conducts in-depth evaluations of dyslexia and other learning problems.

One hour one-on-one sessions are $50. A free initial consultation is available.
